Frequently Asked Questions

What if I can't get a five-person team and want to run with 3 or 4 members and have some runners run two legs?
We will allow this. We have a category called incomplete teams. This allows for one person up to four to run.

I am filling out this form and our team members can't decide who is going to run which leg. Is this a problem?
No, this is a team event. In the results and for awards we are going to list the team name and its members and we will show the leg splits, but the individual running each leg will not be shown. So the order of your team will not matter to us.

What if at a later date one of my team members for some reason is not able to participate on event day? Can we substitute with a new member?
Yes, we only request that the new member fill out their information and sign a waiver and it be given to us to make the change.

What if on race day at the last minute one of our team members cannot compete and we cannot replace them?
Your team can continue on without them and have one member run two legs. However, again you will be able to compete for awards. We will have staff at each relay leg that will be noting team handoffs. If a team does not make a handoff to another team member at each leg, they will not be eligible for awards, but their team times will be posted.

What if we want have a team that mostly walks their relay legs?
This is not a problem as long as your team completes the course in four hours.

At the relay point, do we hand off something to our team members?
No just a tap from one runner to another will do.

I am not familiar with White Rock Lake. Can I go off course?
You can but you will have to try real hard. Stay on the bike/runner path around the lake. Look for relay directional signs and we will have volunteers to make sure you make all the right turns to stay on course.

Will the time for my leg be recorded?
No this is a team event. We are timing your team and its' total time.

What do I do if the person running the leg before me does not show up?
After reasonable time, your team can continue on without them. However, again you will be able to compete for awards.

What is the schedule of the bus taking team members to and from the relay point?
Once it starts, the bus will just go back and forth on a continuous schedule.

Are there mile markers?
There will be no mile markers.
